SYM.BOT Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") operates MeloTune™, a mood-based music player application available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application.

Our Commitment: We are committed to protecting your privacy. MeloTune is designed with privacy as a core principle - we do not collect, store, or share your personal mood data.

Information We Do NOT Collect

MeloTune is designed to respect your privacy. We explicitly do NOT collect:

  • Your mood selections or mood history
  • Your music listening history
  • Your playlist preferences
  • Location data
  • Personal identifying information
  • Device-specific tracking data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data

All mood tracking and music preferences stay on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Information We Collect

Subscription Information

MeloTune offers a 7-day free trial followed by a $2.99/month subscription. We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:

  • iOS - App Store Transactions: Handled entirely by Apple. We receive only a transaction receipt to verify your subscription status. All payment processing is managed by Apple.
  • Android - Google Play Billing: Handled entirely by Google. We receive only a transaction receipt to verify your subscription status. All payment processing is managed by Google Play.
  • iOS - Apple Music Authorization: We request permission to access Apple Music through MusicKit. This is handled by Apple and we do not see your Apple Music credentials.
  • Android - Spotify Authorization: We request permission to access Spotify through Spotify SDK. This is handled by Spotify and we do not see your Spotify credentials.

Technical Information

Basic technical data necessary for the app to function:

  • Device OS version (iOS or Android version, to ensure compatibility)
  • App version (for update management)
  • Crash reports (optional, only if you opt-in)

How Your Data is Stored

On-Device Storage

All mood-related data is stored locally on your device:

  • Mood History: Stored in your device's local storage
  • Learned Playlist Mappings: Cached locally to improve recommendations
  • User Preferences: Saved in device settings
  • iOS: Data stored using Core Data and Keychain
  • Android: Data stored using DataStore and encrypted storage

This data is protected by your device's security features and is never uploaded to our servers.

Cloud Sync (iOS Only)

If you enable iCloud sync for app data on iOS:

  • Your mood history may sync across your Apple devices
  • This is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service
  • We do not have access to your iCloud data
  • Subject to Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy

Note: Android version does not include cloud sync. All data remains on your device only.

Third-Party Services

iOS - Apple Music & MusicKit

MeloTune for iOS uses Apple's MusicKit framework to access Apple Music:

  • Music streaming is handled directly by Apple
  • We do not see your Apple Music account details
  • Music playback data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
  • You can revoke MusicKit access anytime in iOS Settings

Android - Spotify Integration

MeloTune for Android uses Spotify's SDK to access Spotify:

  • Music streaming is handled directly by Spotify
  • We do not see your Spotify account details
  • Music playback data is governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy
  • Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device
  • You can revoke Spotify access anytime in your Spotify account settings

Payment Processing

Subscriptions are processed through platform-native payment systems:

  • iOS: Payment processing handled by Apple's App Store
  • Android: Payment processing handled by Google Play Billing
  • We do not have access to your payment information
  • Billing is governed by each platform's Terms & Conditions
  • Manage subscriptions through your App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) account

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • On-Device Encryption: All local data is encrypted by iOS
  • Secure Communication: All network requests use HTTPS
  • No Central Database: We don't maintain a database of user information
  • Minimal Permissions: We only request essential iOS permissions

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: Your mood data is always accessible on your device
  • Deletion: Delete all data by uninstalling the app
  • Portability: Export your mood history from the app (if you choose to enable this feature)
  • Revoke Permissions: Disable MusicKit access anytime in iOS Settings

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

MeloTune is designed with privacy in mind and does not collect any personal information from users of any age. Since we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data:

  • No personal information is collected from children under 13
  • No parental consent is required as no data is collected
  • All app functionality works entirely on-device
  • Children can use the app safely with parental supervision

Parents should note that while MeloTune itself collects no data, the app requires a music streaming subscription:

  • iOS: Requires Apple Music subscription, subject to Apple's privacy policies and parental controls
  • Android: Requires Spotify account (free or premium), subject to Spotify's privacy policies and parental controls

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
  • Updating the "Last updated" date
  • Sending an in-app notification (for material changes)

Your continued use of MeloTune after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
